See whether a bet is worth it before you place it

Betworth is research, not a bookmaker: the form, the fair odds and every bookmaker’s odds in one place, and a way to test your ideas on past seasons. Four things to know:

Privacy policy

Betworth keeps as little about you as it can: your email, your date of birth once you give it, and what you save. Never a password, never your bets with bookmakers, and nothing is sold.

Last updated 23 October 2026.

Who we are

Betworth is run by Starkey Corporation (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in South Africa. We decide how your information is used, so under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR) and South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) we are responsible for it.

For anything about your information, email support@betworth.co.uk.

What we keep

You can read every research page without an account, and we keep nothing about you for that. If you sign in, we keep:

  • Your email address, and an identifier from Google’s sign-in service (Firebase) that tells us it’s you. We never see or keep a password.
  • Your date of birth, asked once before you save anything, to check you’re 18 or over. It can’t be changed afterwards.
  • What you save: your Bet Plan (the bets you plan, with the odds and stakes you type), your own Strategies, the Strategies you follow, your alert settings and any break you take.
  • Notifications: if you turn them on, the address your browser gives us to send them to.
  • Your sessions: a record of each sign-in, kept as a scrambled code, so you stay signed in.
  • Your Region (UK or South Africa), if you choose one.

When you describe a Strategy in your own words, those words go to our AI provider to be read into a Strategy. We don’t keep your words: only a scrambled code of them, so a repeat request can reuse the answer, and the Strategy that came back.

Our servers keep short technical logs (such as the time and address of a request) to keep the site running and secure.

Why we keep it

  • To give you the service you asked for: your account, your saved Strategies, your Bet Plan and your alerts. This is to perform our agreement with you.
  • To keep Betworth for over-18s and to honour a break: your date of birth and any break. This is our legal obligation and our legitimate interest in running a responsible site.
  • To keep the site working and secure, and to understand how it’s used (counted without cookies; see below). This is our legitimate interest.

We don’t use your information for advertising, we don’t send you bookmakers’ offers, and we never sell it. Alerts go only where you ask, and never carry a bookmaker’s offer or link.

Cookies and your browser

Betworth only uses cookies it needs to work, so it doesn’t ask for consent to them:

  • betworth_session: keeps you signed in (up to 30 days, or until you sign out).
  • region: remembers whether you chose the UK or South Africa (a year).
  • betworth_intro: remembers you closed the “New to Betworth?” strip (a year).
  • betworth_after: remembers the page you were on while you sign in, so you come back to it (30 minutes).
  • betworth_gate: only on test copies of the site that ask for a password (30 days).

Google’s sign-in keeps your signed-in state in your browser’s storage, and remembers your email for a few minutes if you ask for a sign-in link. We count page views and measure how fast pages load with Vercel’s analytics, which set no cookies and don’t identify you.

Who helps us run Betworth

These companies process information for us, under contracts that limit them to doing so on our instructions:

  • Render (hosting our servers and database, in Frankfurt, Germany).
  • Vercel (serving the website, and its cookie-free analytics).
  • Google Firebase (sign-in).
  • Resend (sending sign-in and alert emails).
  • Anthropic (reading a Strategy you describe in your own words; nothing that identifies you is sent).
  • Your browser’s push service (such as Google’s or Apple’s), if you turn on notifications.

Sports data and odds come to us from data providers; we send them nothing about you.

Where it’s kept

Our database is in the European Union (Frankfurt). Some of the companies above are in the United States or work worldwide, so your information may be handled there. Where that happens, we rely on the protections the law requires, such as the UK’s adequacy regulations and international data transfer agreements, and POPIA’s rules on sending information abroad.

How long we keep it

  • Your account and what you saved: while you have an account. Ask us to delete it at any time.
  • A record of a break: until it ends and for a reasonable time after, so a break can’t be undone by starting again.
  • Sessions: until they expire (30 days) or you sign out.
  • Server logs: a few weeks.

Bookmakers and Partner links

Betworth never takes bets and never sees the bets you place with a bookmaker. When you follow a link to one of our Partner bookmakers, the link tells them you came from Betworth, so they can pay us if you join. We don’t send them your name, email or anything else about you. Once you’re on their site, their own privacy policy applies.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the information we hold about you;
  • correct anything that’s wrong (your date of birth can be corrected if it was entered wrongly);
  • delete your account and what you saved;
  • stop or restrict using your information, or object to how we use it;
  • give you what you saved in a form you can take elsewhere.

Email support@betworth.co.uk from the address you sign in with, and we’ll answer within a month. You can change your alerts and take a break yourself, any time, on your account page.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) or South Africa’s Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za). We’d like the chance to put it right first.

Over-18s only

Betworth is for adults. We ask your date of birth before you save anything, and you can’t save anything if you’re under 18. If you think someone under 18 has given us their information, tell us and we’ll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use your information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top, and tell you by email first if the change matters.
